This Privacy Policy explains how FoodTracker (“the App”, “we”, “us”), developed by Boris Serzhanovich, handles your information. The App is a nutrition, diet, and calorie tracking application for iOS. By using the App you agree to the practices described below.

When you grant permission, the App reads health metrics from Apple HealthKit solely to display them inside the App and compute nutrition insights. We also write data (like water intake or logged activities) to HealthKit if you explicitly allow it. We do not use HealthKit data for advertising or marketing, and we do not share it with third parties. HealthKit data is processed on your device.
Most of your data — meals, custom recipes, logs, and settings — is created and used on your device. Depending on the feature, data is stored as follows:

When you use the AI Coach or AI Chef features, the text and nutritional context you submit is sent to our secure backend (Google Cloud Functions) and processed by Google’s Vertex AI (Gemini) models to generate a response. Requests are protected by Firebase App Check. Please avoid submitting sensitive personal information in AI prompts.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for tracking across apps or websites owned by other companies. Your personal diet and health data remains strictly private.
You can delete your data at any time from Profile & Settings → Delete Profile & Data, which permanently removes your local data and iCloud synced records. Since the App uses Anonymous Authentication, there is no remote user account to delete. This action cannot be undone.
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can exercise deletion directly in the App, or contact us using the details below.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest revision.
